The Translations and Studies on Lukács in Contemporary China

Abstract

Today, the study on Georg Lukács in China has become an important part of the international research on Lukács.Throughout the past 70 years, the translations and studies on Lukács'works showed different characteristics in different periods in contemporary China: they were developed and criticized until they were stagnated in the early days of new China(1949-1976),and were revived and prospered in the Reform and Opening Up(1977-1995), and after that showed the characteristics that the translations on Lukács'works were weakened and the research went into a deep advancement. Especially after the new period,theoretical charms of Lukács'works and the devotion of publishers and scholars promoted the boom of translation on Lukács in China. made the research on Lukács being in the ascendant, and became an important part of the international study. The increasing attention and development of the research on Lukács in Chinese academic circle have promoted the continuous refinement of research topics on Lukács,the rapid expansion of research scope,the continuous broadening ofresearchers'academic horizons,and the emergence of a number ofresearch results with high academic level.
